Puppy Biting and How to Prevent It.
Ask your puppy to sit when the puppy is 2 to 3 feet away. If the puppy does not know to sit, click here to learn simple ways to teach him.
If your dog is still learning to sit, stop moving when she bites and then, when she releases on her own, offer her affection, a toy, treat, or praise. The idea is to teach your dog that good things happen when he or she sits politely. Mouthing and nipping are natural behaviors for puppies, but no fun for people.
