Updated Jan 4:

Have any of our neighbors on Simonsen been feeding wildlife on their property?

We’ve set up a new trap for Sage, but she hasn’t come to eat for the past three days. If you happen to notice her feeding in your area, please let us know as soon as possible.

Dec 20

Last Wednesday, we hosted Sage’s brother (an Aussie-doodle) for a few hours. The adopters had a long drive, about 6 hours, but unfortunately, the heavy rain was not in our favor. There was a brief moment of visual contact between Sage and her brother. However, due to Sage’s fear of people, she remained in her safe space and did not venture out to the planned meeting area.

Interestingly, about an hour after her brother had left and the rain ceased, Sage emerged to search for him. This behavior is a positive indicator. Maintaining her in our secure area is crucial for her to build trust and eventually be captured.

Update Dec 4.

Sage seems to stay local in the square, including the triangle of Simonsen and the first drive way to the right heading south on Simonsen.

She is no harm to animals or people!

Please do not feed or try to capture.

Her brother will be arriving on Wednesday to help lure her into a fenced area. She has Trap-trauma and will shy away from anything that looks like a containment.

Update: Nov 30

Sage is still on the run. We have worked hard to keep her in the area of the Simonsen triangle.

She is constantly coming for breakfast and dinner in the future trapping area.

I’m so grateful for your calls and texts about her sightings.

Please keep the updates coming.

It takes a village and awesome neighbors to save a stray dog like her. 🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼

Note: Sage is not a regular pet, but was found as a stray puppy in the woods. It took a team 4 months to initially trap her.
